Notification

For the information of all the MRCS candidates ie Old Style MRCS and new Style MRCS the format of Intercollegiate MRCS exam has recently changed from July 2008. We are aware of the changes and we are incorporating following changes into our October 2008 course.

However Course will cover both style of MRCS Exam that is Old style Clinical and New style Intercollegiate Part. B OSCE. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be adding following segments in October Course.

 
1.
Clinical skills in history taking and Physical Examination.
(That is already part of our course further improving it).
2.
Surgical skills and Patients safety.(New introduction)
3.
Communication skills ( revising it).

Aims of the course (2 days week end)


Head of our faculty is Mr.Tahir Hussain (Consultant Vascular Surgeon Northwick Park & St Mark Hospital London, Senior lecturer Imperial College London) Other faculty members are Consultants, Sprs and Senior experienced clinicians in their relevant specialities. This is a private course.

This Course is planned near to exam date so that candidate practise and remember skills gained during the course and perform best in the examination. The course also includes mock examination

The course is designed for the candidates to gain experience in examination techniques and to practise and master clinical skills and likely examination questions.
There will be real patients and as well as normal individual to practise the examination skills in small groups.

Presentations will include, lumps & bumps, skin lesions, V Veins and other real cases of Orthopaedics , Vascular, Head& Neck , Abdomen and X-rays that are encountered in the examination.

The spectrum of pathology will be common to the MRCS examination.

Time will be spent on how to examine appropriate clinical systems as well as discussing common examination mistakes, ways to avoid them and how to answer common and most probable clinical examination questions.

Course also includes mock examination.

Following cases were shown in our last course .

Vascular.
Varicose Veins, AV Malformation, PVD, Amputation, AV Fistulae. amputation etc.
Orthopaedics.
Post Minesectomy scar, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthiritis, Rheumatoid hands 
Nerve injuries in hand, scars for hip and knee surgery,Dupuytrenâs Contracture etc
Lumps, bumps & endocrine.
Goitre, lipoma, sebaceous cyst, fibroma, dermoid cyst, mole,keloid scar etc.
Abdomen.
Abdominal Surgical scars, Stomas, Hernia etc.
